We also saw TS Madison publicly criticize Nicki’s Turning Point interview — despite Nicki having previously supported her.
What’s disappointing is how easy it was to turn on someone who publicly and privately showed support. Nicki stood with TS Madison when it wasn’t popular, when doors were still closed, and when grace was needed. Yet when Nicki appeared on the Turning Point stage, the response was mockery — even a symbolic “funeral.” That contrast matters.
Especially when, not long ago, Madison herself asked for understanding and grace when her own community pushed back on her:
– after questioning where nonbinary identities “fit” under the trans umbrella,
– after using deportation rhetoric and xenophobic language toward a critic,
– after being criticized for centering a narrow, binary transition narrative,
– and after repeated public conflicts that many felt harmed Black women instead of building solidarity.
In those moments, the message was “I’m learning, give me room.”
So it’s fair to ask: why wasn’t that same grace extended here?
This isn’t about canceling anyone — it’s about consistency, loyalty, and discernment. You don’t get to demand compassion when you’re under fire, then withhold it the moment the spotlight shifts. That’s not accountability. That’s convenience.
